Benefits of Telephone & video counselling
- More focus on the interaction and conversation, rather than office location or number of degrees on the wall.
- Saves client time and money (travel time, gas, parking).
- Convenience and comfort of being in your own home.
- Can afford the client a little more anonymity
Video or telephone counselling are effective ways of doing therapy. These options make counselling more accessible to:
- areas that are under serviced or remote
- individuals limited by physical disabilities
- individuals with multiple family responsibilities
- individuals with limited access to transportation or time constraints.
- It is now an option to connect with clients as we continue to practice social distancing
Video or telephone counselling may not be for everyone, but it is effective and helpful for many. I have been doing telephone counselling for 14 years and these are some of the comments my clients have made:
“These sessions have been helpful in changing my perspective on my problem.”
“I’ve appreciated your gentle, calm approach.”
“Counselling has changed my life.”
“Thank you. You were the biggest help to me when I didn’t have any other support.”
